Description

Morel table lamp combines a solid walnut frame with a delicately hand-carved alabaster shade. This design reveals intricate patterns within the aged stone, with the warm light highlighting the alabaster’s texture and form. 

Product story

The lamp began as a simple alabaster bowl, whose beautiful underside we felt deserved more attention. Rather than let it sit unnoticed, we flipped it over, turning its subtle textures into the focal point of a new design. To complement this transformation, we chose to construct a slim walnut base from thin strips—minimal yet purposeful, elevating the shade without overwhelming it.

Lighting properties

The natural translucence of the alabaster creates a softly lit ambient light, reminiscent of a warm, candle-like glow. The material has a smooth, waxed surface with delicate veining that resembles marble. The interplay of light and material reflects its creamy, opaque hues and intricate patterns, bringing out the natural textures and beauty of the alabaster.
